Union Pacific Depot with Christmas lights
The traditional red and green holiday colors are everywhere in Cheyenne, including on the clock tower of the Union Pacific depot. You didn't think one of the city's most historic sites would lack the holiday spirit, did you? Of course not.

And this brings us to the end of this year's Wednesday in Wyoming posts. I hope you've enjoyed them and that they've given you some new insights into the state I now call home.

Happy New Year! May 2022 bring you only health and happiness.

Christmas lights Cheyenne street
Trees, Santa, and - most importantly - a nativity scene decorate this Cheyenne home.

Since this is my last Wednesday in Wyoming post before Christmas Day, it's time for me to wish you the happiest of Christmases.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas train lights at Cheyenne Depot
Since the Transcontinental Railroad and the Union Pacific were the reasons Cheyenne was first established, it's not surprising that some of the city's decorations include trains.

Where did I find this lighted train? Very appropriately, it was at Depot Plaza, the site of the historic Union Pacific railroad depot.

Houses with Christmas lights
Do you enjoy driving through various neighborhoods at this time of the year to see all the decorations? I do, which is why I've included this picture of a Cheyenne street.

Wyoming State Capitol at Christmas
Christmas lights -- whether they're red, green, white, or multicolored, they're an important part of the holiday season, which is why I'm featuring them in this month's blog posts. I hope you'll enjoy seeing how parts of Cheyenne are decorated for this very special time of the year.

Disclaimer: Because I haven't gotten out to view the lights this year, I'm relying on photos taken several years ago, starting with this one of the State Capitol. Even if the decorations are different this year, the sentiment is the same: happy holidays!
